I just saw that Representative Adam Kinzinger has hit the CNN media airwaves to talk about Chris Kyle as an American hero.
Kinzinger, a previous Air Force major and KC-135 pilot, voted to reduce military retirement benefits, although Congress later repealed the cuts. Shortly after this vote, Representative Kinzinger also voted in the minority, voting to not undo the cuts to military retirement that Congress had previously enacted. Kinzinger, who changed his bio claim that he was a pilot for "the Air Force Special Operations Command" after several members of AFSOC questioned his claim, did not change his vote and remained consistent in his desire to cut military retirement.
The vote to take from military retirement was a hot topic of discussion on the internet, to include a military forum where Kinzinger is rumored to participate.
Chris Kyle, of course, was an undisputed member of the special operations community. Had Kyle not been tragically murdered, it might have been interesting to hear what he might have had to say about the vote to take retirement away from those who had served for decades.
