A journalist lost his life due to beheading by ISIS. A journalist who was captured by the Syrian Rebels that our government has supported and at least one of our senators has had lunch with.
This makes me angry and I know it makes others angry. But I invite others to take a breath and not rush to insanity as we have done for the past decade with tragic results to America's security.
There is a push for further intervention by those who own our government. Those who think we Americans own it, I am sad to inform you that has not been the case for some time. It's the nature of money and power. General Clark alluded to it in the video above.
And media is key to ensuring you don't understand how you have lost your country, while keeping your selective service number.
Don't buy the media nonsense to take our men and women and children and feed them as fodder into our war machine simply to bolster their political and business agendas.
Enough is enough.

Couldn't agree more with you on this one, especially the bit about how we don't own our government at the moment. We agree on much more, but since you've placed me on your enemies list and stubbornly refuse to see sense, this anecdotal glimpse of agreement will have to suffice.

That doesn't make you my enemy, it just means I disagree with you on issues that are important and on values that are important. You responded to that disagreement in ways I don't appreciate. Cutting off conversation when the discussion was going down a logical path you didn't like, cutting off discussion citing being "busy" while continuing to have the discussion with others of your mindset, banning opinions from discussion on your page (a trend that appears to be increasing), and such. But the internet is great in that it demonstrates how difficult it is to control a discussion. One can control it on their little slice of internet, but the internet is bigger than any one slice. You're welcome on my slice any time. Even when you disagree with me.
ReplyDeleteYour assessment of my actions, assuming it is honestly rendered, suffers from confirmation bias. You see in me what you expect to see, never mind the truth. Much of what you've said in your post is inaccurate, and you're using it as foundation in deciding how to conduct our association. That's unfortunate, but it's your prerogative. Lest I break my own rule of thumb by dwelling too much on personal matters at the expense of substance, I'll just repeat how much I agree with your post. This and several others recently advance an important reality: we don't own our government right now. And nor should we expect to own it. When we've constructed and tolerated a corrupt system that operates on pure power rather than the power of representation, the logical outcome is a corrupt system that takes no notice of the ordinary American voice. If that voice won't make itself heard by reforming the system, it'll be permanently silenced. At any rate, appreciate the chance to comment, and you're likewise welcome to comment on my blog whenever inclined.

ReplyDeleteI am an excellent judge of character, and you have given me ample mountains of evidence to make a judgment.
But we can agree on this issue, and others. Character, however, principle is what matters more. Anybody can profess the right viewpoint. Politicians do it all the time.
