My how time flies, pardon the pun. I had only flown formation a half dozen times in the previous five years given the job was flying navigator students around and before that I was doing a ground gig in Korea and before that I was "flying" the MQ-9. So I bobbled when raising the gear on takeoff like a student pilot, struggled at 90 degrees in wing work, got spit out during practice lost wingman, and my ET-3 was absolutely atrocious. Formation flying is a perishable skill as this flight demonstrates.
But penetrating the clouds was awesome, flying over Doak Campbell Stadium was legit, and that wing landing in Tallahassee, home of Florida State University, was beautiful.
